Breaking News: India to Upgrade WHO Medical Center, Boost Veterinary, Creative & Space Research

India is set to modernize the WHO Medical Center in Jamnagar into a hub for research, training, wellness, and traditional medicine practices. This move is part of a broader plan to strengthen healthcare, education, and innovation across multiple sectors. In the animal husbandry sector, which contributes 16% of farmers’ income, the government plans to establish veterinary and para-veterinary colleges, diagnostic labs, and provide financial support for livestock and breeding initiatives. Private sector collaboration will be encouraged, ensuring sustainable growth in animal farming and rural livelihoods. The creative and digital economy is also a key focus. India’s gaming and comics sector is projected to require over 20 lakh professionals by 2030. To meet this demand, the government proposes the Indian Institute of Creative Technology in Mumbai, alongside content creator labs, 15,000 secondary schools, and 500 colleges to foster talent in design, gaming, and digital arts. New National Institutes of Design will also be set up in the eastern region to address skill gaps. Education infrastructure will expand through five university townships along industrial corridors, integrating colleges, research institutions, skill development centers, and student housing. STEM-focused institutions will provide long-term training with advanced laboratories. Girls’ hostels will be established in every district to address financial barriers for female students.
