Breaking News: Education Ministry Highlights Future-Ready Learning at Republic Day Parade

Theme of this year’s Republic Day, “150 Years of Vande Mataram,” celebrates India’s journey of freedom, cultural identity, and national pride inspired by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s iconic song. India marked its Republic Day with a grand parade at Kartavya Path, reflecting the nation’s democratic values, cultural richness, and steady progress. The celebrations were graced by the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who attended as chief guests, underscoring India’s strong global partnerships. The parade brought together vibrant cultural performances, colourful tableaux, and disciplined marching contingents from the armed forces and central police forces. Around a hundred artistes set the tone with musical presentations celebrating unity in diversity, while ceremonial processions highlighted the country’s cultural and regional heritage. India’s defence capabilities formed a major highlight of the event, with the display of indigenously developed platforms such as the BrahMos and Akash missile systems, the Suryastra rocket launcher, and the Arjun Main Battle Tank. Newly raised formations including the Bhairav light commando battalion and the Shaktiban Regiment made their first appearance, along with unique ceremonial participants like Zanskar ponies and Bactrian camels. A tri services tableau showcasing key weapon systems symbolised the nation’s defence readiness and technological strength. Flypasts by fighter aircraft, dynamic bike formations led by women contingents, and the presence of national leaders, diplomats, and citizens together captured the spirit of the occasion. The celebrations stood as a reminder of the Constitution’s enduring legacy and India’s collective vision for the future.
