A major confrontation broke out outside the Lucknow district court complex after the High Court ordered the removal of illegal constructions. Authorities launched a bulldozer drive to demolish around 240 unauthorized structures, including lawyers’ chambers and shops. The action led to strong protests by advocates who resisted the demolition and claimed lack of proper notice and alternative arrangements. As tensions escalated, police were deployed in large numbers to control the situation, eventually using mild force and conducting a lathi charge to disperse protesters. Several chambers were demolished during the operation, while lawyers expressed anger and distress over the loss of their spaces. The administration maintained that the action was carried out strictly as per court orders to remove encroachments near the court premises. The situation remained tense as demolition continued under heavy police presence, highlighting a sharp clash between enforcement authorities and protesting lawyers.
