After the trailer of the film Ghuskhore Pandit was released on Netflix, protests have erupted across the country, with growing opposition from various groups. In Madhya Pradesh’s capital Bhopal, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Brahmin Samaj staged a protest against the film, alleging that it hurts the sentiments of the Brahmin community. Protesters claimed that the film presents a negative and objectionable portrayal, which they believe could damage social harmony. Members of the Brahmin Samaj gathered to express their anger and demanded strict action against the film’s makers and key artists associated with the project. They specifically named filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, actor Manoj Bajpayee, and Ruchika Shekhar Kapoor, holding them responsible for what they described as offensive content. The protesters urged authorities to take immediate steps, including reviewing the content and taking legal action if necessary. They also warned that if their demands are ignored, the protests could intensify in the coming days. The controversy has added to the nationwide debate around creative freedom, religious sentiments, and responsibility of content creators on OTT platforms like Netflix.
