Political reactions have begun emerging in the controversy surrounding the resignation of former Bareilly City Magistrate Alankar Agnihotri. BJP Member of Parliament Dinesh Sharma has now commented on the issue, distancing himself from the officer while questioning the intent behind the episode. Speaking to the media, Sharma initially stated that he does not personally know Alankar Agnihotri. However, he later added that incidents of this nature often appear politically motivated. Sharma remarked that when administrative disputes are brought into the public domain in such a manner, they tend to carry a “political smell,” suggesting that the matter may not be limited to service-related grievances alone. His statement comes amid an ongoing departmental inquiry ordered by the Uttar Pradesh government and has added a political dimension to what was initially an administrative controversy. The remarks are expected to fuel further debate as both political and bureaucratic circles closely watch the developments.
