The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a major action regarding the resignation of the Bareilly City Magistrate. Alankar Agnihotri has been suspended on charges of indiscipline. The responsibility of investigating the matter has been handed over to the Bareilly Divisional Commissioner. Until the completion of the inquiry, Alankar Agnihotri has been attached to the Shamli District Magistrate’s office. The issue continues to intensify, while his family has maintained complete silence on the matter. Several political leaders also reached out to persuade him, but he reportedly refused to listen to anyone. It has been revealed that he also spoke over the phone with Swami Avimukteshwaranand. Alankar Agnihotri alleged that the Bareilly administration detained him for nearly 45 minutes against his will. Despite these developments, his resignation has not yet been accepted by the government. Alankar further claimed that atrocities are being committed against the Brahmin community and that the new rules introduced by the UGC would lead to exploitation of people. He also appealed to public representatives from the Brahmin community to consider resigning in protest. The matter remains sensitive, and authorities have assured a fair and thorough investigation.
