Breaking News: Another Arrest Made in Turkman Gate Stone-Pelting Case, Heavy Police Deployment in Old Delhi

Delhi Police has arrested another suspect, Mohammad Imran, in connection with the Turkman Gate violence, taking the total number of arrests to 12. The unrest had erupted when administrative teams attempted to remove illegal encroachments near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque, leading to stone-pelting at police personnel and multiple injuries. Police continue their crackdown on key accused, conducting raids across different areas of Old Delhi, including Chandni Chowk and Chandni Mahal. Ahead of Friday prayers, authorities have deployed heavy security in the area, with Delhi Police and paramilitary forces, including CRPF, stationed at multiple points to ensure law and order. The mosque’s chief custodian, Nazmuddin Chaudhary, has appealed to the public to maintain peace and perform prayers either at nearby mosques or at home to avoid crowding. The market near Turkman Gate remains closed as a precaution.
