Breaking: Muslim Side to Challenge MP High Court Verdict in Supreme Court Soon

The legal battle over Bhojshala is set to continue as the Muslim side has announced plans to challenge the recent verdict of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in the Supreme Court. Following the High Court’s landmark judgment granting Hindus worship rights at the Bhojshala complex and recognizing the site as a Saraswati temple, representatives from the Muslim side reacted strongly and confirmed that they would seek legal relief from the apex court. Waqar Sadiq stated that while respecting the High Court’s decision, the Muslim side believes certain findings went against their arguments and therefore the matter would now be challenged before the Supreme Court. He said the full judgment would first be examined carefully in consultation with legal experts before filing the appeal. Waqar Sadiq also clarified that the Muslim side had earlier objected to the 2003 ASI-related order and argued that namaz at the site had been continuing even before that arrangement. Responding to the court’s observation regarding the possibility of alternative land for mosque purposes, he said discussions with lawyers and community representatives would determine the next legal strategy. The High Court verdict had triggered celebrations among Hindu groups in Dhar, while also reigniting debate around the historical and religious identity of the disputed structure. Security arrangements remain heightened in the region as authorities monitor reactions from both communities. Legal experts believe the matter could now move into a fresh constitutional and historical debate before the Supreme Court, making the Bhojshala dispute one of the country’s most closely watched religious property cases.
