BREAKING: Himanta Biswa Sarma takes oath as Assam CM for second consecutive term

In a major political event in Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken oath as the Chief Minister of the state for a second consecutive term. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted with full constitutional formalities, where the Governor administered the oath of office and secrecy, marking the continuation of his leadership in the state government. During the ceremony, Himanta Biswa Sarma affirmed his commitment to uphold the Constitution of India, maintain the unity and integrity of the nation, and discharge his duties as Chief Minister with honesty, impartiality, and dedication. He also pledged to work without fear, favour, or bias, ensuring equal justice and governance for all sections of society. The event witnessed significant political participation and national attention. Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ceremony, extending his congratulations and support. Senior leaders from the ruling alliance and other states were also present, highlighting the political importance of the occasion. Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is often described as one of the most influential leaders in the northeastern region, has played a key role in strengthening the Bharatiya Janata Party’s position in Assam. After leaving the Congress party in 2015, he joined the BJP and quickly rose to prominence. His leadership is widely credited for the party’s strong electoral performance in the state. With this renewed mandate, the focus now shifts to governance priorities, development initiatives, and policy implementation in Assam. The new government is expected to continue its emphasis on infrastructure development, administrative reforms, and regional growth strategies. The oath-taking marks not just a political continuation but also a reaffirmation of public trust in the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma, setting the stage for the next phase of governance in Assam.
