A major incident unfolded in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district, where farmers protesting against an upcoming ethanol plant turned aggressive after a large mahapanchayat on Wednesday. The situation escalated rapidly as clashes broke out between the farmers and the police. Visuals from the spot showed intense stone-pelting, arson, and damage to vehicles, including police vans, as anger spiraled out of control. According to SP Harishankar, five police personnel were injured during the confrontation, while seven people were detained for disrupting law and order. Officials stated that certain miscreants took advantage of the situation and vandalized the under-construction factory site. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area, and internet services have been temporarily suspended to prevent further unrest. The protest had been brewing for a long time, with farmers strongly opposing the ethanol plant, claiming it would harm their land and livelihood. Authorities continue monitoring the situation closely as investigations proceed.
