A major political controversy has surfaced in Maharashtra after an FIR was registered against former Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Vinayak Raut, his son Gitesh Raut, and several family members following allegations made by his daughter-in-law. The complaint, filed at Kapurbawdi Police Station in Thane, accuses the family of physical and mental harassment, forced participation in alleged black magic rituals, and other forms of abuse. According to the police complaint, the complainant alleged that she was forcibly made to consume cow urine as part of occult practices and was subjected to physical assault, including having her hair pulled. She further claimed that the family relied on self-styled spiritual healers for rituals allegedly linked to superstition and black magic. Based on the allegations, police have registered a case under relevant provisions, including the Maharashtra Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act. Investigators have reportedly arrested one accused, identified as Firoz Sheikh, who has been described by police as a self-styled godman. Another individual, identified as Kazi Baba, is currently being traced. Authorities said the investigation will determine the role of each accused and whether additional legal action is warranted. Vinayak Raut, a senior Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former Member of Parliament, has not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication. His son, Gitesh Raut, who serves as a municipal corporator, has also been named in the FIR. The case has drawn significant attention because it involves prominent political figures and allegations linked to superstition, domestic abuse, and alleged exploitation. Police have emphasized that the accusations remain under investigation, and the truth of the claims will be established through the legal process.
