A major development has emerged in Delhi as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at the residence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj in connection with the alleged hospital construction scam. The raids are part of a wider operation covering 13 locations simultaneously across Delhi. The case pertains to the construction of 24 government hospitals, where serious allegations of corruption and misuse of funds have been made. According to investigators, the original project cost of several hospitals, including the Lok Nayak (LNJP) Hospital, nearly doubled from ₹538 crore to ₹1,138 crore. Despite this inflated cost, probe agencies allege that less than 50% of the work was completed. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had initially launched the inquiry, which led to the filing of an FIR in June 2024. The case was later transferred to the ED in July under money laundering charges. ED officials are reportedly scrutinizing financial records, tenders, and documents to trace irregularities and possible laundering of government funds.AAP leaders have dismissed the raids as a politically motivated move aimed at targeting the party and its leadership, while the ED maintains that the case involves grave charges of public fund misappropriation.
