Breaking: Bollywood Names Surface in ₹252-Crore MD Drug Nexus; Police Probe Claims of International Links

Mumbai Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell is intensifying its investigation into the ₹252-crore MD drug racket after arrested trafficker Salim Sheikh named several high-profile individuals, including social media personality Orry and actor Siddhanth Kapoor. According to police sources, Salim Sheikh claims the network is linked to international suppliers and operated through factories concealed as pharmaceutical units in Sangli and Mysuru. These facilities allegedly produced mephedrone (MD) under the guise of legal chemical manufacturing. Investigators emphasize that the accused’s statements alone do not constitute evidence, and each claim must be verified through travel records, digital chats, financial trails, and corroborated testimonies. Siddhanth Kapoor was questioned for nearly five hours, while Orry is expected to appear before the Ghatkopar ANC unit for detailed interrogation. Police maintain that the current focus is not on alleged consumption, but on tracing the supply chain, financial routes, and the extent of a possible organised nexus. The probe gained momentum after the February 2024 arrest of Parveen Sheikh in Kurla, whose disclosures led police to dismantle larger production units and uncover links to absconding trafficker Saleem Dola, believed to be operating from Turkey to evade extradition.
