BREAKING: Alok Kumar Slams Ayodhya Bar Resolution, Calls It Unconstitutional and Against Legal Ethics

A fresh political and legal controversy has erupted over the Ram Janmabhoomi issue after Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) International President Alok Kumar strongly criticized the recent resolution passed by the Ayodhya Bar Association. Responding to demands seeking the removal of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and even from Ayodhya, Kumar termed the move politically motivated rather than a legitimate legal action. Alok Kumar stated that the resolution appears to be an attempt to protect or promote certain political interests instead of upholding legal principles. He questioned the Bar Association’s decision to declare that no lawyer should represent the accused and warned of a proposed ₹5 lakh penalty for any advocate violating the directive. According to Kumar, such a stance undermines the Constitution and violates the ethical responsibilities of the legal profession. While making it clear that he has no sympathy for anyone found guilty of wrongdoing, Kumar emphasized that if there is evidence of corruption or criminal conduct, the accused should be convicted through due legal process and sent to jail at the earliest. However, he stressed that every individual is entitled to legal representation, a fundamental constitutional right that cannot be denied through collective resolutions. The VHP leader urged the Ayodhya Bar Association to carefully study constitutional provisions and legal ethics before enforcing such decisions. He called for an immediate review of the resolution, saying it risks setting a dangerous precedent for the justice system. His remarks have intensified the ongoing debate surrounding the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust and are expected to further fuel political and legal discussions in the coming days.
