Mumbai has emerged as the center of major political developments ahead of the BMC elections. The BJP and Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) have finalized their seat-sharing arrangement, reaching consensus on 207 seats. Of these, BJP will contest 128 seats while Shiv Sena (Shinde) will fight on 79 seats, with agreement already in place on 207 seats. The remaining 20 seats will be jointly decided by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, likely to be finalized by December 30, before nominations close. Meanwhile, another big announcement has come from the opposition camp, as Congress and Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi are set to form an alliance. Both parties will hold a joint press conference at noon to formally announce the partnership.
