BJP Bengal Move: Shah Meets Modi in Delhi Ahead of Key MLA Meet, CM Decision at 4 PM

Political developments in West Bengal have gained momentum as senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah continues his visit to Kolkata for the party’s post-election leadership selection process. According to political sources, Amit Shah had a late-night meeting in Delhi with Prime Minister Narendra Modi before departing for Kolkata. The discussion is reported to have focused on government formation strategy in West Bengal and the selection of the Chief Ministerial candidate. However, there has been no official confirmation from the party regarding the details of this meeting. Following the reported consultation, Amit Shah reached Kolkata and began a series of engagements, including internal party discussions and preparatory meetings ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s legislative party meeting scheduled for 4:00 PM. The BJP will hold a crucial meeting of its newly elected MLAs later in the day, where the legislative party leader will be chosen. That leader is expected to be proposed as the next Chief Minister of West Bengal. The final decision will be taken collectively by the MLAs under the guidance of central leadership. Party sources also indicate that discussions around cabinet formation and organizational structure were part of the broader consultation process ahead of the final announcement. Traditional arrangements at the meeting venue include regional food preparations for attending legislators, reflecting local cultural practices during political gatherings. While speculation continues around potential candidates, the BJP has maintained that the official announcement will be made only after the legislative party meeting concludes and the formal voting process is completed.
