Bihar Politics: Suraj Bhan Singh demands EC probe after Anant Singh’s Mokama murder charge

After the shocking double murder in Mokama, Bihar, political tensions have intensified. Former MP Suraj Bhan Singh has given his first reaction after being accused by Anant Singh of orchestrating the killings. Responding to the allegation, Suraj Bhan said that the matter should be thoroughly investigated by the Election Commission. He stated that it is not about who takes his name but about ensuring transparency and justice through an impartial inquiry. Suraj Bhan emphasized that an investigation headed by a retired judge should be initiated to uncover the truth behind the incident. He also raised serious questions about the election process, stating that in every assembly constituency, only about ten candidates should contest, not hundreds. He urged the Election Commission to limit the number of candidates to maintain order and safety, highlighting that the increasing violence during elections is damaging India’s democratic image. Suraj Bhan added that the safety of candidates must be ensured and that the credibility of the Election Commission should not be questioned due to such incidents.
