Bihar Politics: Dular Chand Yadav murder intensifies Mokama’s political war between Anant Singh and Suraj Bhan

In Bihar’s Mokama, the brutal murder of political worker Dular Chand Yadav has triggered major political uproar just days before the assembly elections. Yadav, who was once associated with the RJD, was reportedly supporting a Jan Suraaj candidate at the local level. His killing has deepened tensions in the already volatile political atmosphere. Anant Singh, a well-known strongman and candidate, has been accused by the victim’s family of orchestrating the murder and personally firing shots. A case has been registered against Anant Singh and two of his associates, while Singh has filed a counter-FIR, alleging that he and his supporters were attacked.Meanwhile, Suraj Bhan Singh, whom Anant Singh blamed for the conspiracy, has demanded an independent investigation by the Election Commission, claiming that his name is being misused for political purposes. The incident has once again raised serious questions about Bihar’s law and order, with opposition leaders including Tejashwi Yadav and Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor attacking the Nitish Kumar government over rising political violence. The murder has turned Mokama into a flashpoint of political and criminal rivalry, as police tighten security amid growing public outrage and fear of escalating violence during the election period.
