Two individuals have been arrested in Bihar’s Darbhanga district for allegedly using abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public event organized by the INDIA alliance. The arrests come after significant political uproar and multiple FIRs filed across various districts in Bihar, including Patna. The incident gained traction when a video of the offensive remarks made from a public stage went viral, drawing criticism from BJP leaders and supporters. The BJP had lodged complaints in several police stations including Kotwali and Gandhi Maidan. Acting swiftly, the police arrested one of the accused, known as “Rivi” alias “Raja,” from Bhapura village under Simwara police station. While the local administration has not yet officially confirmed the arrest, sources suggest that further details will be released soon. This incident has intensified the political tensions in Bihar, with BJP leaders targeting opposition figures like Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav over the offensive remarks.
