During the swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, several newly elected leaders took oath as ministers in Nitish Kumar’s new cabinet. Arun Shankar Prasad, who won from Khajauli by defeating Congress candidate Amit Kumar, signed the register after taking oath. He was not a minister in the previous government and has now been appointed from the BJP quota. Following him, Surendra Mehta, the former Sports Minister and a repeated winner from Bachhwara in Begusarai, also took oath and greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on stage. Rama Nishad, a first-time MLA from Aurai, also took oath as a minister. She defeated VIP’s Bhupendra Sahni.and comes from a political family, as her husband previously served as an MP. Narayan Sah from the OBC community has also been inducted from the BJP share, acknowledging the strong OBC–EBC support in this election. In total, 26 leaders took oath led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy CMs Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha. Among notable faces, international shooting champion and two-time Jamui MLA Shreyasi Singh was sworn in, marking her entry into the cabinet as a young Rajput woman leader.
