Tamil Nadu is witnessing a historic political moment as actor-turned-politician Vijay is set to take oath as the state’s Chief Minister at 10 AM today at Chennai’s Nehru Indoor Stadium. The stadium is packed with enthusiastic supporters of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), celebrating the party’s rapid rise to power within just two years of its formation. Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has arrived in Chennai to attend the swearing-in ceremony. TVK secured support from five parties and submitted a letter claiming the backing of 120 MLAs, crossing the majority mark in the 234-member Assembly. However, suspense remains over whether Congress will join the new government, as reports suggest the party did not submit ministerial names to the Governor till late night. Names likely to be part of Vijay’s cabinet include K. A. Sengottiyan, Nirmal Kumar, Anand Venkatraman, Arun Raj, Aadhav Arjuna, Raj Mohan, and Mustafa.
