Bengal Mega Cabinet Expansion: Ministers of State Take Oath as Governor Leads Swearing-In

West Bengal witnessed a large-scale cabinet expansion ceremony where ministers of state with independent charge were sworn in before the Governor. The event is part of a broader reshuffle designed to expand the state cabinet and enhance administrative representation across different regions and communities. Among those taking oath were Malti Rama Roy, Rajesh Mahato, and Dr. Indranil Khan. The ministers-designate took their oaths in accordance with constitutional provisions, pledging allegiance to the Constitution of India, commitment to sovereignty and integrity, and dedication to their official duties without bias or personal interest. The oath-taking process, conducted in a formal setting, included assurances of impartial governance, adherence to law, and commitment to public service. The ceremony reflected the structured constitutional framework under which ministers assume office and responsibilities. The expansion is being seen as part of a larger political strategy to strengthen the administrative framework of the state. Officials have emphasized regional representation and inclusion of leaders from diverse social and professional backgrounds to ensure balanced governance. The reshuffle also significantly increases the size of the cabinet, with total ministerial strength expected to reach 41 after all appointments are completed. This marks one of the largest cabinet expansions in recent political developments in the state. Political observers note that the exercise aims to improve governance delivery and prepare the administration for upcoming challenges related to development, infrastructure, and public welfare schemes. Following the swearing-in, portfolios are expected to be allocated soon, completing the formation of the expanded cabinet.
