Bangladesh Protests: Protests Continue Across India Over Safety of Hindus in Bangladesh

Protests against alleged attacks on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh continued across multiple Indian cities, even as security agencies maintained strict vigilance. Demonstrations were reported from Delhi, Siliguri, Hyderabad, Jammu, Bhopal, and Kolkata, where protesters raised slogans, burned effigies, and expressed anger over the recent killing of a Hindu youth. The incident has sparked nationwide outrage, with protesters demanding immediate steps to ensure the safety and rights of Hindus in Bangladesh. In the national capital, demonstrators attempted to move closer to the Bangladesh High Commission but were stopped by multiple layers of barricades. Delhi Police and paramilitary forces were deployed in large numbers to prevent any breach of security. Some protesters were briefly detained after attempting to cross barricades, while others were asked to disperse peacefully. Senior police officials, including district-level officers, remained on the spot to monitor the situation. Despite police advisories stating that permission for the protest had not been granted, many demonstrators stayed at the site for over two hours, insisting that their movement was peaceful and aimed at drawing attention to humanitarian concerns. Protesters appealed to the Indian government to engage diplomatically with Bangladesh and press for concrete measures to protect minority communities. Authorities stated that law and order remains under control, though the situation continues to be closely monitored.
