Banaskantha Violence: Mob Attacks Forest Team, 47 Cops and Officials Injured

A major clash erupted in Gujarat’s Banaskantha district after a dispute over land, where a large mob attacked the forest department and police personnel. The violence broke out in Pandoli village when forest officials reached the area to carry out plantation work on forest land. According to reports, around 500 local residents gathered and launched a coordinated attack, pelting stones, using arrows, setting fire to government vehicles, and indulging in arson. As many as 47 police and forest department employees were injured in the incident. Ambaji police inspector R.B Gohil suffered serious injuries and has been admitted to hospital in critical condition. Police had to use tear gas shells to control the situation. Several official vehicles were damaged in the violence. Authorities are assessing the situation as tensions remain high in the area.
