Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation: Devotees Demand Tough Action as Press Meet Cancelled Amid Probe

The Ram Temple donation controversy has taken a fresh turn after a scheduled press conference by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Seva Samiti was abruptly cancelled, intensifying speculation surrounding the ongoing investigation into the alleged donation theft case. Committee president Mahant Dharmdas Maharaj denied receiving any phone call or political pressure, stating that the organization would present its side after a few days. At the same time, he asserted that corruption could not take place under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The cancellation has triggered fresh questions as multiple stakeholders await clarity on the future of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Meanwhile, the investigation continues with several trust officials, including Champat Rai, Anil Mishra, and Gopal Rao, remaining under scrutiny. The Trust’s meeting, now scheduled for July 6, is expected to discuss possible restructuring and decisions regarding key office-bearers. ABP News spoke to several devotees visiting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. While many pilgrims from different states said they were unaware of the alleged donation theft case, those familiar with the controversy demanded a transparent investigation and strict punishment for anyone found guilty. Visitors from Karnataka, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and other states emphasized that money offered to Lord Ram represents the faith of millions and must be protected with complete accountability. Some devotees expressed confidence that the government would ensure a fair probe, while others questioned why senior trust members continue in their positions during the investigation. The cancellation of the press conference has further fueled public debate over transparency, accountability, and trust management. With the Trust meeting approaching and multiple agencies continuing their investigation, attention remains focused on whether administrative changes, resignations, or legal action will follow in one of the most closely watched religious controversies in recent times.
