AVIATION MILESTONE: First Flight Departs Noida International Airport with 172 Land Donor Farmers

A historic chapter in India’s aviation infrastructure journey began as the first flight from Noida International Airport prepared to depart for Lucknow, carrying 172 farmers who contributed their land for the development of the ambitious airport project. The special flight marks the symbolic launch of passenger operations from the newly developed aviation hub and celebrates the role played by local communities in making the project a reality. The farmers onboard are scheduled to travel to Lucknow along with local legislator Dhirendra Singh, where they are expected to meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and express their gratitude for the development initiatives that transformed the region. For many of the passengers, the journey is more than just a flight—it is the fulfillment of a dream and a moment of pride linked directly to their contribution toward the airport’s construction. Several farmers and local residents described the experience as emotional and unforgettable. Many of the women and elderly passengers are flying for the very first time in their lives. Excitement was visible across the airport as passengers proudly displayed their boarding passes and prepared to board the inaugural service. Farmers recalled how the project evolved over the years, from land acquisition and consultations to the eventual construction of one of India’s most significant greenfield airport developments. Many credited government initiatives for making air travel accessible to ordinary citizens and enabling local communities to become stakeholders in large-scale infrastructure projects. The inaugural flight is being seen as a landmark moment not only for the airport but also for the region’s economic future. Officials believe the airport will boost connectivity, attract investment, generate employment, and accelerate development across western Uttar Pradesh.
