‘You’re either American or you’re not’: Indian-origin Nalin Haley calls dual citizenship a ‘stupid idea’

During an interview, Nalin Haley, the son of Nikki Haley, ignited debate after labeling dual citizenship as the ‘dumbest concept ever,’ insisting that true loyalty lies with a single nation. He expressed concerns over foreign nationals serving in the US military, emphasizing that allegiance to America should come first.

During the interview, Carlson asked whether people with ties to other countries should be allowed to serve in the US military. Nalin dismissed the idea entirely. “Hello no,” he said, calling the suggestion “insane.” He added, “Dual citizenship is bad enough, but to serve in the military is… disqualifying really.” Carlson responded, “Of course,” backing the stance.Nalin also said America should not permit dual citizenship of any kind. “People should have their loyalty to America first,” he said. Carlson is also a rigt-wing political podcaster who mostly agreed with the ‘America First’ stance of Nalin. Nalin’s comments follow a series of hardline statements about immigration, foreign students and the H-1B system. Nalin has repeatedly blamed migrant workers and international students for limiting opportunities for young Americans. In an earlier Fox News appearance, he claimed he had seen his own friends lose out because foreign applicants snatch those places from them.Nalin has become a celebrated figure among sections of the MAGA base who oppose the presence of Indian and Chinese students in the US, even as Trump now argues that America lacks “talent” and needs skilled foreign workers for industries such as tech and defence.
