'Will be given to some guy': Trump pushes for Nobel, calls denial of Prize an ‘insult' to US

US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that even after ending seven global conflicts, if he still hadn’t received the Nobel Prize, it would be an insult to the country. Addressing the dozens of top generals and admirals in Quantico, Va, Trump said that despite solving global conflicts, the Nobel Prize will be given to some guy that didn’t do a damn thing but not him. “Nobody’s ever done that. Will you get the Nobel Prize? Absolutely not.” “They’ll give it to some guy that didn’t do a damn thing. They’ll give it to the guy who wrote a book about the mind of Donald Trump and what it took to solve the wars,” he continued. “The Nobel Prize will go to a writer.” The president added, “No, but let’s see what happens, but it will be a big insult to our country. I will tell you that. I don’t want it. I want the country to get it. And it should get it because there’s never been anything like it.” The president expressed optimism that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza would conclude with his 20-point peace plan, which Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated support for on Monday. Success would mark the resolution of eight conflicts. “If this works out, we’ll have eight, eight in eight months. That’s pretty good,” Trump said. The president has been raking up global support in his push for a Nobel Peace Prize, but ending the war in Gaza and the war in Ukraine are major diplomatic tests for him. He has garnered nominations so far from Pakistan, Cambodia, Israel and GOP lawmakers as he touts his role in talks to end various global conflicts. The White House has publicly argued it is “well past time” Trump gets the prize as they push for it ahead of the decision in December by the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
