FaZe Clan is once again in the spotlight. This time, it is not because of wins or big signings. It is because many well-known members have left the group in recent weeks. Some former members have spoken about control issues. Others have pointed to problems linked to contract talks. These exits have raised fresh questions about how the group is run and who built it from the start.FaZe Clan began as a small gaming team. Over the years, it turned into one of the biggest names in esports and online culture. It signed top creators, built huge social media pages, and worked with major brands. But now, the mood around the group looks very different. Public posts, videos, and strong words have taken over social media. With members leaving and leaders responding, many fans are asking a simple question. Who founded FaZe Clan, and how did it grow into what it is today? Here is a clear look at the founders and what is happening now.

Founders Eric “CLipZ” Rivera, Jeff “House Cat” Emann, and Ben “Resistance” Christensen and the recent FaZe Clan exits

FaZe Clan was founded in 2010 by Eric “CLipZ” Rivera, Jeff “House Cat” Emann, now known as Timid, and Ben “Resistance” Christensen. At the start, the group was called FaZe Snipping. The founders mainly played Call of Duty and shared trick-shot videos online. Those videos helped the group grow fast.Over time, FaZe Clan became much bigger. It signed streamers, YouTubers, and esports players. The brand moved beyond gaming and into lifestyle content. In the past few weeks, several members have left the group. These include FaZe Adapt, Jason, Ronaldo, Lacy, and Silky. Plaqueboymax also said he left the group in August this year.Plaqueboymax shared videos and posts saying he felt creators had little control. He said members were being treated like “puppets.” He also said, “I have since leaving worked with bigger guests and brands, and have a 2026 planned that is even bigger than what I have accomplished so far.”FaZe Adapt posted on X on December 25. He wrote, “Left FaZe Clan 14 years. Over half of my life, I would be lying if I said this did not hurt, but it had to be done. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey, the best is yet to come.”These exits happened after FaZe Banks stepped down as CEO in July. Banks later said on X that he had nothing to do with the exits and that he left months earlier. After Plaqueboymax mocked Banks’ post in a video, Banks replied with a long statement. He said, “I find you guys all to be incredibly ungrateful. I think it is disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach that your guys’ relationships with each other and your community are so fake.”Banks also listed benefits he said creators received, including free housing, staff, and no income cuts. He added that he felt blamed for the situation.FaZe Clan also posted a message on X on December 27, calling the situation emotional and saying the ending was “beyond tragic.”Also Read: Who Is Charli D’Amelio?
