Who is Richard Florez who shot and killed Indian student Chandrashekar Pole at gas station? Texas police reveal chilling details

Indian student Chandrashekar Pole was killed by a 23-year-old gunman in Texas who set off a series of violent incidents the same night.

23-year-old Richard Florez, who shot and killed Chandrashekhar Pole, a 28-year-old Indian student working at a gas station, caused a series of violent incidents the same night after he left the gas station. Fort Worth Police Department officers came to know about the rampage when they got a 911 call about the gas station shooting.

Rammed car into another vehicle

When cops arrived at the gas station, Pole was already dead. Florez left the gas station and got involved in another altercation with a vehicle and rammed it several times. Officer Brad Perez, a spokesperson for the Fort Worth Police Department, said no body was harmed in that shooting.

Attempted to trespass

Then Florez traveled to the 8500 block of Meadowbrook Drive and rammed through the metal access gate of someone’s property. Police said the suspect tried to enter the property. Perez said the people living there did not know the suspect and called 911.Police found a gun inside Florez’s vehicle; he was taken to a hospital and was booked for the homicide. There is no information to suggest Florez knew anyone he attacked that night. There was no altercation between Florez and Chandrashekar.

Fundraiser for the repatriation of Chandrashekar’s body to India

A fundraiser has been started to send Pole’s body to India. “We are raising funds to send Chandrashekar back home to India so his parents can see him one last time and perform his final rites. Please, from the bottom of our hearts, we ask for your help every contribution, no matter how small, will help his grieving family in this unimaginable time,” it said. “Our hearts are shattered as we share the heartbreaking loss of our dear friend Chandrashekar Pole, an international student from India, who was tragically shot and killed by an unknown person in the Dallas/Fort Worth area without any argument or reason, out of the blue. He had recently graduated and was full of dreams, hope, and determination to make his family proud,” it said.
