Mapletom, better known to esports fans as Maple or by his Chinese name Huang Yi-Tang, has long been one of Taiwan’s most respected mid laners. His career stretches across multiple leagues and unforgettable Worlds stages, but in late 2025, his name trended for something that had nothing to do with a mechanical outplay or a tournament run. Instead, a sudden and surprising Twitch hack pushed him into headlines, leaving fans confused, worried, and wondering how such a quiet veteran ended up at the center of chaos. It wasn’t the kind of attention Maple was used to, but it brought a renewed spotlight to a player who rarely finds himself in controversy. The timing made the situation even more unusual. Maple had been juggling the tail end of his competitive career with a growing, though never overly scheduled, streaming presence. His channel, mapletom, had gathered more than 84,000 followers, mostly tuning in for his relaxed Chinese-language gameplay, calm breakdowns of mid-lane matchups, and the sort of thoughtful commentary you’d expect from someone who has played at the highest level for nearly a decade. The hack flipped all of that on its head. One moment his channel was quiet, the next it was broadcasting explicit content without his knowledge, instantly shifting the conversation around him.

The incident shocked longtime followers precisely because Maple has always been known for his even temperament. His reputation was built during his Flash Wolves era in the LMS, now PCS, where he became one of the region’s most feared mids. Multiple domestic titles and several Worlds appearances made him a symbol of Taiwan’s strength in League of Legends. International stints with TSM in the LCS and JD Gaming in the LPL only added to his experience. In recent years, as he returned to the PCS with PSG Talon, streaming slowly became part of his routine. Despite irregular hours, around 61 streamed in recent cycles, his community remained steady. And when the 2025 hack happened, that loyalty showed. Clips, discussions, and support poured in, reminding everyone of how rooted Maple still is in the scene. The hack didn’t define him, but it did highlight something important: Maple’s influence never faded. Whether competing on stage or chatting with fans on Twitch, Mapletom remains one of Taiwanese esports’ most trusted, enduring voices. Also Read: Ironmouse calls hate toward BurntPeanut “cringe” after Streamer Awards controversy
