Jennifer O’Brien is a TikTok content creator with tens of thousands of followers, known online as Jennifer Nieve. She is now behind bars after a UK court found her guilty of repeated and violent crimes against a woman. A Manchester court jailed Jennifer O’Brien, 34, for 17 years after finding that she s*xually abused a woman at least 10 times and committed other serious offences. The judge said the crimes caused deep and lasting harm to the victim. The sentence means Jennifer O’Brien must serve two-thirds of the term in prison. The case shocked many because of the number of attacks and the length of time they went on. The victim told the court she made it clear she did not want sex, but the abuse continued. The judge called it repeated offending and said it could not be treated as a single incident. The case was heard at Manchester Crown Court, where a jury returned guilty verdicts after a five-day trial. The story was reported by the Manchester Evening News.

Court documents referred to the defendant as Jordan O’Brien, also known as Jennifer Nieve. The court heard that O’Brien had transitioned from a man to a woman. The victim said O’Brien became aggressive when she refused sex.The jury found Jennifer O’Brien guilty of r*pe, assault by penetration, threatening with an offensive weapon, and another serious offence. During sentencing, Recorder Tim Harrington said the abuse charge was based on no fewer than 10 attacks. He told O’Brien, “I have to sentence you for at least 10 occasions that you r*ped her. This was repeated offending.”In a statement read to the court, the victim described the long-term impact of the abuse. She said, “I don’t sleep for very long, and I’m up at all hours of the night. If I am in a group of more than five people I suffer from anxiety. The impact has been long term and deeply damaging. I have lived for years with fear and anxiety.” This statement was reported by the Manchester Evening News.Defence lawyer Dan Calder said O’Brien had no previous convictions and described her past as difficult. He told the court that Jennifer O’Brien is “highly likely” to be suffering from “complex PTSD” and has a “history of trauma.” He also said she did not agree with the jury’s decision but accepted the court’s duty to sentence her.Jennifer O’Brien had spent two years on bail under an electronically monitored curfew. The court said that time would count toward the total sentence. O’Brien, who has no fixed address, was ordered to serve most of the 17-year term in custody.
