What's next for Pam Bondi? Trump's outgoing DOJ says she's thrilled about her next private sector role hours after being fired

Pam Bondi says she is thrilled about her new public sector role as she will be working for President Donald Trump and the administration.

Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a statement after President Donald Trump announced her exit from the crucial Department of Justice chief position and said she is thrilled about her new position in the private sector, as she will be fighting for President Trump and the administration in her new role too. Unlike the social media posts, the exit was not friendly as reports claimed that there was a massive showdown between Trump and Bondi just before Trump’s speech last night. Trump told Bondi that she was fired and Bondi tried to change his mind, begged the president not to fire her and to give her more time, Daily Mail reported, citing insiders. The announcement was supposed to be made on Friday but as several news outlets like NYT, CNN already reported on it, the announcement was made on Thursday only. “Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year. Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900. We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP,” Trump posted on Truth Social. This was the second heavyweight reshuffle after Trump ousted Kristi Noem from the Department of Homeland Security. Bondi, in her statement, said she will be working this month to transition the office of Attorney General to Todd Blanche before “moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration.””Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history. Since February 2025, we have secured the lowest murder rate in 125 years, secured first-ever terrorism convictions against members of Antifa, shattered domestic and transnational gangs across the country, taken custody of more than 90 key cartel figures, and won 24 favorable rulings at the Supreme Court. I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again,” Pam Bondi said. Unlike Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi will not remain part of the administration. After removing Noem from the DHS, Trump created a new post for her as ‘special envoy for the Shield of the Americas’ — a security initiative in the Western Hemisphere.
