Benny Johnson and Marjorie Taylor Greene are now in the middle of a heated public fight online, and it all started because of fresh claims involving Congressman Thomas Massie. The argument exploded on X on May 14 after Greene shared a post criticizing Johnson’s YouTube coverage of allegations made against Massie by his alleged former girlfriend, Cynthia West. The claims surfaced just days before Massie’s primary election in Kentucky, quickly turning into a political and social media storm. The situation became even bigger when Greene accused social media influencers of being “paid to spew propaganda.” Benny Johnson fired back soon after, saying he was simply covering a major trending story for his audience. From there, both sides started throwing sharp accusations at each other in long public posts. While Johnson defended his reporting, Greene accused him of spreading lies and using other people’s content. Meanwhile, Thomas Massie also publicly denied all accusations against him and called them politically motivated ahead of the election.

Benny Johnson and Marjorie Taylor Greene trade harsh accusations as Thomas Massie controversy grows

The online clash began after an X user named Bobby Sauce criticized Benny Johnson’s latest YouTube video about Thomas Massie. In the video, Johnson discussed accusations from Cynthia West, who allegedly claimed Massie paid hush money during their past relationship. Marjorie Taylor Greene reposted that criticism on May 14 and wrote about influencers getting “paid to spew propaganda.” That post quickly caught Johnson’s attention.Johnson responded directly to Greene and wrote: “I cover trending news topics on my show. The Massie allegations and your South America mansion were the number one trending topics on this platform. I’m entitled to my opinions on these matters. I serve my audience. That’s my job. And unlike you, I won’t run away from my job when things get tough.”Soon after, Greene responded with even stronger words. She called Johnson “a LYING scumbag” and accused him of spreading “trending LIES” for money. She also mentioned past media allegations involving Johnson, including claims related to Russia, Israel, conservative conferences, and content theft. Greene questioned why he never discussed those allegations on his platform.Johnson later answered with another long statement. He said Greene’s comments were “evidence free slander” and defended his reporting. He also criticized Greene over immigration and border issues, saying: “What you said about me is evidence free slander. But what I said about you is true.” At the same time, Thomas Massie publicly denied all accusations made against him by Cynthia West. In his statement, Massie said:“It’s sad that a week before this election people are making false and unsubstantiated allegations about me in an obvious attempt to influence the outcome of this election. All of the claims of inappropriate conduct are false. I’ve never offered anyone money in exchange for their silence.”He also added: “There are no ethics claims filed against me, nor have there ever been any claims filed against me in my 14 years in office. I have consulted legal counsel, and we are considering all options.” As of now, Marjorie Taylor Greene has not publicly responded to Benny Johnson’s latest post.
