US President Donald Trump on Thursday hinted at possible talks with Iran, days after he warning of attack amid violent protests going on in the middle-east country.”Iran does wanna talk and we will talk,” he said in Davos, Switzerland, while he unveiled the Gaza “board of peace’. Trump’s push for peace comes after he threatened military action against Iran this month in response to the country’s violent crackdown on some of the largest street protests in years, which left thousands dead. For now, Trump has indicated he will not launch any new strikes on Iran, citing assurances that the Islamic government halted the planned executions of more than 800 protesters. At the same time, as he prepared to announce his Board of Peace, Trump emphasized that his hardline stance toward Tehran which included mention of strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities last June, which he claimed were instrumental in facilitating the Israel-Hamas ceasefire. Iran, he added, had long been Hamas’ key backer, providing hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid, weapons, training, and financial support.’Finger on trigger’: Iran Guards chiefWhile Trump’s statement came from Davos, the commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards on Thursday warned Israel and the US against “miscalculations” following recent mass protests, declaring that the force had its “finger on the trigger.” US President Donald Trump has repeatedly left open the possibility of new military action against Iran, after Washington supported and joined Israel’s 12-day conflict in June.A two-week wave of protests starting in late December challenged the clerical leadership under Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei but has largely subsided amid a crackdown that activists say has killed thousands.Revolutionary Guards commander General Mohammad Pakpour cautioned Israel and the US “to avoid any miscalculations by learning from historical experiences and what they learned in the 12-day imposed war, so as not to face a more painful and regrettable fate.”He added, “The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and dear Iran have their finger on the trigger, more prepared than ever, ready to carry out the orders and measures of the supreme commander-in-chief—a leader dearer than their own lives,” referring to Khamenei.
