‘We have no links’: Hillary Clinton rejects claims she and Bill Clinton are tied to Epstein files

‘We have no links’: Hillary Clinton rejects claims she and Bill Clinton are tied to Epstein files, accuses Trump administration of ‘cover-up’

Former US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has denied that she or her husband, former president Bill Clinton, has any links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, saying the couple have been open about what they know and have nothing to hide.In an interview with the BBC in Berlin, Hillary called for the full release of government documents related to Epstein. She said: “We have no links. We have a very clear record that we’ve been willing to talk about.” She added that her husband “took some rides on the airplane for his charitable work. I don’t recall ever meeting [Epstein].”Her comments come as both Clintons prepare to testify before the US House Oversight Committee, which is investigating Epstein’s connections to powerful, wealthy figures and how information about his criminal conduct was handled by authorities. The couple has been asked to give closed‑door depositions, but Clinton made it clear she believes the proceedings should be public. “We will show up, but we think it would be better to have it in public,” she said. She added, “I just want it to be fair. I want everybody treated the same way. That’s not true for my husband and me.”Clinton accused the Trump administration of slowing down the release of Epstein files. “Get the files out. They are slow‑walking it,” she said.Hillary said the focus on the Clintons was intended to divert attention from US President Donald Trump. “Look at this shiny object. We’re going to have the Clintons, even Hillary Clinton, who never met the guy,” she added.Officials from the Department of Justice (DOJ) have said there are no further files to release, but lawmakers, mostly Democrats, have criticised the department for withholding internal memos, emails and notes relating to Epstein.Trump’s name also appears in the released documents multiple times, but he has denied any wrongdoing. He said he had been “totally exonerated.”Bill Clinton has confirmed that he flew on Epstein’s private jet in the early 2000s for work linked to the Clinton Foundation. However, he has maintained that he never visited Epstein’s private island.Hillary also addressed her own limited connection to Epstein’s circle, saying she had met Epstein’s associate and right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell “on a few occasions.”The former first lady is scheduled to give her deposition on February 26, with Bill Clinton set to testify the following day.
