‘Voted for impeachment of Trump’: Indian-origin Congressman Shri Thanedar says US president commits more crime ‘each month’

'Voted for impeachment of Trump': Indian-origin Congressman Shri Thanedar says US president commits more crime 'each month'

Indian‑origin Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar of Michigan doubled down on his stance against US President Donald Trump, saying he proudly voted for his impeachment and accusing the MAGA chief of committing more crimes “each month.” Thanedar posted on X: “Yesterday, I proudly voted for the impeachment of Donald Trump. Each month, the president commits more and more crimes. I was the first to introduce articles of impeachment during this term, and I will continue standing up to Trump.” Thanedar has also focused on other senior officials in the US government. At a heated House Homeland Security Committee hearing, he challenged Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem over her handling of deportations and immigration policies. He accused her of misleading the public and asked whether she would resign if not removed. Noem fired back accordingly, saying she would “consider your asking me to resign as an endorsement of my work.” During the session, Thanedar held up a sign reading “Kristi Noem lies to the American people” and pressed her on controversial deportation practices. In addition, Thanedar has filed articles of impeachment against Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth, accusing him of misconduct linked to a military strike off Venezuela and the sharing of classified information. Thanedar said Hegseth’s actions were unlawful and reckless, endangering service members and violating legal standards.Thanedar has accused POTUS of sweeping abuses of power and constitutional violations, introducing seven articles of impeachment against the US president earlier this year and calling him “unfit to serve” and a danger to democracy. Thanedar argued that Trump repeatedly ignored constitutional limits, defied courts, and misused executive authority, saying “when Trump ignores the Constitution, Congress, and the courts, he is not fighting for America.”
