UAE: Sharjah introduces special licence plates for classic vehicles and motorcycles

Today, Sharjah Police officially launched a new category of licence plates specifically designed for classic vehicles and motorcycles across the emirate. The initiative aims to provide vehicle owners with distinctive, high-quality registration options that reflect both the emirate’s identity and the heritage of these vehicles.

Heritage meets Standards

The new plates feature the approved design in line with Sharjah’s visual identity. They include the First Category and private plates for classic vehicles, along with the First Category plates for motorcycles. While these plates adhere to contemporary registration standards, they are crafted to preserve the heritage character of classic cars and motorbikes, allowing owners to display a piece of automotive history on the road.

Accessible through Auction

These new registration numbers will be offered for sale through Emirates Auction, ensuring multiple options for buyers. The auction system is designed to provide plates that combine quality, variety, and distinctiveness, in line with Sharjah’s broader strategy to enhance and modernize the traffic services system.

Traffic services upgrade

The launch of this category forms part of Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to provide high-quality and unique services to vehicle owners. By introducing these special plates, the authorities aim to not only celebrate classic vehicles and motorcycles but also strengthen institutional efforts to develop traffic services, offering a smoother and more organized registration experience.
