UAE: Abu Dhabi’s Air Arabia launches new direct flights to Assiut, Egypt starting November 2025

Starting November 4, 2025, Air Arabia Abu Dhabi will launch direct flights between Zayed International Airport and Assiut, Egypt, adding a third Egyptian destination to its growing regional network. The new route will operate twice weekly and marks a significant step in enhancing connectivity between the UAE and Upper Egypt.

New route to Assiut launches November 4

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi, the UAE capital’s first low-cost carrier, has announced the addition of Assiut to its growing route map. From November 4, 2025, the airline will begin direct, non-stop flights between Abu Dhabi and Assiut International Airport.The new service will run twice a week, with departures scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays. The flight itinerary is as follows (all times local):

This launch marks Air Arabia Abu Dhabi’s third destination in Egypt, complementing existing services to Cairo and Alexandria. The move further strengthens air connectivity between the UAE and Egypt, particularly targeting travelers to and from Upper Egypt.

Air Arabia fleet and network growth strategy

Air Arabia Abu Dhabi currently operates a fleet of 12 Airbus A320 aircraft, all part of a modern lineup serving more than 30 international destinations from the UAE capital. The airline confirmed plans to expand its fleet and route network before the end of 2025, underscoring its commitment to offering customers more travel options and reliable service. According to Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer, the launch of the Assiut route “extends our reach into Upper Egypt directly from the UAE capital” and “strengthens our network between the UAE and Egypt.” He emphasized that the airline continues to focus on providing “convenient and affordable options to travel between the two countries.”

Air Arabia enhances passenger experience and booking services

Air Arabia offers a range of value-added services for passengers, including:

  • SkyTime: A free in-flight streaming service.
  • SkyCafe: An onboard catering service offering meals and snacks at affordable prices.
  • Air Rewards: A loyalty program allowing passengers to earn, transfer, and redeem points for future travel.

Passengers can book flights between Abu Dhabi and Assiut through Air Arabia’s official website, call centre, or by contacting authorized travel agencies.

Strengthening ties with Egypt

The introduction of flights to Assiut is part of a broader strategic focus on deepening travel and economic ties between the UAE and Egypt. With direct access now available to three key Egyptian cities—Cairo, Alexandria, and Assiut—Air Arabia Abu Dhabi is positioning itself as a pivotal link in regional air travel and a key facilitator of low-cost mobility across the Middle East and North Africa.
