This US county is offering $9,500 to live and work remotely from here. Condition is you have to stay for a year

US county is offering money to move there and work remotely for a year.

A US city is inviting young workers to come and work remotely from here for at least a year and they will get $9,500 as a relocation package. The entire amount will not be cash, but $5,500 will be given as a cash stipend, and $4,000 will be in the form of local experiences and memberships. All they want is for people outside the state to come here and commit to staying for a year.The program has been announced by Fond Du Lac County, home to the city of Fond du Lac, on the southern shore of Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin. The talent attraction program has been announced by Envision Greater Fond du Lac, the county’s chamber of commerce and economic development organization.The program is designed to help address workforce shortages while attracting younger workers and families to the area.The package includes memberships to the Fond du Lac Family YMCA, golf benefits, VIP access to arts and cultural attractions, baseball experiences with the FDL Dock Spiders, library passes and dining-related experiences. Additional perks highlight local agriculture, family activities and community events.Fond du Lac is the first Wisconsin community to participate in the MakeMyMove platform, joining other cities across the country that offer incentives to attract new residents.

Who can apply?

  • According to MakeMyMove, applicants must be at least 18 years old
  • They must live currently outside Wisconsin and must relocate to Fond du Lac County within 6 months.
  • They must have an annual household income of at least $55,000.
  • Local work opportunities will also be provided if someone wants to work in the county.

The program said that Fond Du Lac, with a population of 104,053, is designed for remote professionals who cherish for small-city ease with aceesss to bigger-city amenities.
