Surgeon named Jeffrey Epstein is mistakenly dragged into Epstein files scandal by Congresswoman; here's what he said

A neurosurgeon who happens to share a name with one of the world’s most notorious criminals has fired back after being dragged into a political row by mistake. Dr Jeffrey Epstein, a respected Long Island doctor, was publicly implicated by Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett to be the late sex trafficker and pedophile during a speech. This made the medical expert angry for and he crafted a plan for revenge.Crockett told Congress this week she was “gonna expose it all” after spotting donations from “somebody named Jeffrey Epstein” to former New York congressman Lee Zeldin. She suggested the contributions came from Epstein, even though the donations were made in 2020, long after the convicted offender died in jail in 2019.According to FEC records, Dr Jeffrey Epstein — the neurosurgeon, not the disgraced financier — donated $1,000 to Lee Zeldin in April and August 2020. When Democrats questioned Zeldin about why “Jeffrey Epstein” appeared in his filings, he responded: “Yes, Crockett, a physician named Dr. Jeffrey Epstein (who is a totally different person than the other Jeffrey Epstein) donated to a prior campaign of mine,” Zeldin wrote.Speaking to The New York Post, the real Dr Epstein said he had never faced such an accusation until Crockett’s comments. “Until she said something, it was never an issue,” he said. While people sometimes react to his name because of the deeds of the infamous criminal Epstein, he added that he normally plays it down. “I say my name and sometimes people will give me a look, or whatever. I always look at them and say, ‘I don’t understand,’ and I make it like I’m dumb.”The doctor joked about the perfect payback. “I think that I should contribute money to Jasmine Crockett and then let everybody know that she also took money from Jeffrey Epstein,” he said.He insisted he is unfazed by the bad title attached to his name. “Listen, that’s my name,” he said. “If my name was Jeffrey Dahmer when that whole thing came out, do you think that would be a problem? Listen, anytime a doppelganger is tied to a less-than-desirable, it’s never a good situation. But it doesn’t matter to me. I could[n’t] care less.”
