Sean Diddy Combs sentenced to more than 4 years in prison after he breaks down, tells mom, kids he’s sorry

Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to four years in prison on prostitution charges, though he was acquitted of more serious sex-trafficking charges earlier this year. The verdict wrapped up a major scandal involving the music industry, as Diddy was accused of torturing, sexual abuse, organizing freak-off parties, trafficking, etc. In the trial, he was cleared of the more serious charges of trafficking but charges of prostitution and violence were proved against him. “You abused them, physically, emotionally and psychologically,” Judge Arun Subramanian told Combs as he handed down the verdict. “Why did it happen for so long? Because you had the power and resources to keep it going, and because you didn’t get caught,” Subramanian said. “A meaningful sentence is needed to protect the public for further crimes.”

I was sick, sick from drugs: Diddy breaks down in court

Ahead of his sentencing, Diddy broke down in court and said sorry to his mother and kids who were present for his sentencing. “My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will forever have to carry,” Diddy said begging for mercy. “My actions were disgusting, shameful and sick. I was sick. Sick from the drugs. I was out of control, I needed help but I didn’t get the help. Because of that, I can make no excuse. I can really make no excuse because I knew better,” he said. “I’ve been humbled and broken to my core. I hate myself right now. I’ve been stripped down to nothing. I really am truly sorry for it all no matter what they say,” he said and then apologized to all his seven children, taking their names. “I’m sorry. You taught me better. You raised me better,” Diddy said to his mother. “One of the hardest things I’ve had to handle is having to be quiet. Not being able to express how sorry I am for my actions. I want to personally apologize again to Cassie Ventura for any harm or hurt that I’ve caused to her, emotionally or physically. I don’t take that lightly. I would like to apologize to her family, I’m so sorry.”The prosecutors pushed for an 11-year jail as they revealed that Diddy was not a reformed person and had already planned speaking events next week; he was so confident of release. Diddy’s attorneys called him a civil rights leader and pushed for a reduced sentence, insisting that his good outweighs his bad.
