Saudi Arabia makes national address mandatory for parcel deliveries starting January 2026

Starting next year, sending a parcel without a national address in Saudi Arabia will no longer be possible. The Transport General Authority is taking a decisive step to streamline deliveries, improve logistics, and boost e-commerce by making the national address mandatory for all shipments. The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced that, effective 1 January 2026, all parcel shipments handled by delivery companies must include a valid national address. Shipments that do not provide this information will be refused, making it essential for individuals and businesses to update or register their national address ahead of the deadline. According to the TGA, this move aligns with the broader goals of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy. It aims to enhance delivery accuracy, improve overall logistics efficiency, and support the growth of e-commerce in the Kingdom. By ensuring every shipment is linked to a precise national address, the authority expects to reduce delivery errors and delays while allowing government and private entities to better serve residents and beneficiaries.Individuals and businesses can register their national address through multiple official platforms, including the National Address portal, Absher, Tawakkalna, Sehhaty, and SPL. The TGA emphasized that securing a national address is not only crucial for parcel delivery but also contributes to a more organized and efficient transport and logistics sector. This measure underscores the authority’s commitment to developing a sustainable, high-performing parcel delivery ecosystem. By improving location accuracy and service efficiency, the initiative is set to strengthen e-commerce operations, facilitate smoother logistics, and enable entities across sectors to deliver services more effectively.
