Passengers using King Khalid International Airport will need to plan carefully later this month as the airport prepares for a large-scale terminal reshuffle. From February 16 to February 25, 2026, flights will be gradually reassigned across several terminals in a phased operation that airport officials describe as the most extensive operational change in its history. The 10-day transition will affect both international and domestic services operated by Saudia, flynas, flyadeal and foreign airlines. The airport said the changes are aimed at easing passenger movement, improving operational efficiency and supporting long-term service upgrades.

How the terminal changes will roll out

The relocation of flights will take place in stages, with specific cut-off times for each airline and service type.On February 16, international flights operated by flyadeal scheduled to depart after 12.00 am will begin operating from Terminal 1.From February 17, international flights operated by Saudia departing after 3.00 am will move to Terminal 2.A larger shift is planned for February 24. All Saudia domestic flights departing after 12.00 am will relocate to Terminal 4. On the same day, domestic flights operated by Saudia, flynas and flyadeal departing after 11.00 pm will also operate from Terminal 4.The final phase takes place on February 25. International flights operated by foreign carriers departing after 5.00 am will relocate to Terminal 5. From 7.00 am, all domestic flights operated by Saudia, flynas and flyadeal will operate exclusively from Terminal 3, which will be designated for domestic services.

What passengers need to know

Airport authorities have urged travellers to check their assigned terminals carefully before heading to the airport, as flight locations will vary depending on the date, airline and departure time.Passengers are advised to arrive early, with check-in at the designated terminal opening four hours before departure. Travellers are also encouraged to remain in close contact with their airlines to receive the latest updates during the transition period.

Part of a wider modernisation plan

The terminal transition forms part of a broader modernisation drive at King Khalid International Airport. Officials said the phased approach is designed to minimise disruption while laying the groundwork for improved passenger experience and operational performance in the years ahead.
