Kelsie Domer is living every parent’s worst nightmare. The 10 time Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world champion lost her 3-year-old daughter, Oaklynn, on February 19 after a tragic horse accident. The heartbreaking news was shared in an obituary posted by Lanman Funeral Home and later shared by Kelsie Domer on Facebook. According to Rodeo Life on February 20, Kelsie Domer was holding Oaklynn while leading one of their horses when the animal suddenly suffered a medical episode. The horse fell on them, Kelsie Domer survived, but despite life saving efforts, Oaklynn died from her injuries. The loss has shaken the rodeo world. Messages, prayers, and tributes have poured in for Kelsie Domer and her husband, Ryan Domer, as they mourn their little girl, who was often seen traveling with them across the country.

Oaklynn’s obituary shared loving details about her short but joyful life. “Oaklynn packed a lot in her short time with us,” the Lanman Funeral Home obituary read. “Traveling the rodeo circuit all over the U.S., hitting the practice pen with mom and dad, and loving her family with all her heart.” It added, “She loved frogs, horses, everybody’s puppies, going to ‘yodeos,’ and hanging out with all her friends. She did not know a stranger and lit up the room the minute she made her grand entrance.”After the accident, Company Simply Equine & K9, where Kelsie Domer has been a team member for four years, shared a tribute on Instagram on February 20. “Our hearts are shattered beyond words,” the company wrote. “Sweet Oaklynn gained her angel wings far too soon. Please continue praying for Kelsie, Ryan, her family and everyone that loved this precious soul.”On February 20 in San Antonio, breakaway ropers wore pink to honor Oaklynn. Kelsie Domer reposted a message that said, “I know my baby girl loved seeing all of that PINK.” Taormino Performance Horses also shared a clip of a rider placing bright pink flowers in her horse’s saddle and wrote, “Your baby girl is with us today, Kels and Ryan.” Breakaway roper Haley Sage Wright joined the tribute and wrote on February 23, “Pink in honor of the toughest little cowgirl.” Go to Source
