Rob Reiner and wife found with throats slit, daughter tells police family member ‘should be a suspect’

Hollywood director and actor Rob Reiner (78) and his wife (68), Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Brentwood, Los Angeles, home on Sunday afternoon, allegedly killed by their son, Nick Reiner, according to multiple sources who spoke with family members. Police have not yet confirmed the details.According to TMZ, the couple’s throats were slit by a family member, possibly after an argument inside their Los Angeles home.The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the house at around 3:30 pm to provide medical aid. On arrival, responders discovered a man and a woman dead. The People reported that the victims were Rob and Michele Reiner. Police say their 32-year-old son Nick is alive and is currently being questioned. No arrests have been made.TMZ reports that the couple suffered lacerations consistent with knife wounds. A family member reportedly discovered the bodies. According to sources, the daughter told police the family member “should be a suspect” because they are “dangerous.” Dispatch audio reveals that LAPD called for backup at the Brentwood mansion around 3:30 pm.Rob Reiner enjoyed a long and distinguished career in Hollywood, directing films such as This Is Spinal Tap, Stand by Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, Misery, and A Few Good Men. Rob and Michele married in 1989 after meeting on the set of When Harry Met Sally. They had three children. Rob was previously married to the late Penny Marshall, who passed away in 2018.Nick Reiner has previously spoken publicly about his struggle with drug addiction, which began in his early teens and left him homeless for long periods.
