‘Refuse to walk? We’ll give you a ride’: ICE officials cuff and wheel protester away on cart – Watch

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) posted a video on Sunday showing a protester being wheeled away on a metal cart. The video shows the individual face down in a hoodie, lying on their stomach with their hands cuffed behind their back. ICE captioned the clip on X, “Refuse to walk? We’ll give you a ride.” The protester was moved away to the 2005 song “Ridin” by Chamillionaire. The video has since garnered millions of views and thousands of likes on X. Some netizens condemned the agency’s actions. The video comes amid heightened tensions in Portland, where US President Donald Trump deployed 300 California National Guard troops despite a federal court order blocking the use of active-duty military in the city. Last week, Trump had demanded defence secretary Pete Hegseth to use “all necessary troops” to protect ICE from “domestic terrorists.” Oregon immediately sued to stop the deployment. US district judge Karin Immergut ruled that sending troops would violate the Constitution and federal law, noting, “Overall, the protests were small and uneventful. The President’s determination was simply untethered to the facts.”Before the ruling, hundreds of protesters marched at the South Macadam Avenue detention centre, clashing with federal agents who used tear gas, mace, and pepper spray.
