Twitch star Imane “Pokimane” has gone viral after sharing her thoughts about men she met during a recent trip to New York. A short clip of the Moroccan-Canadian streamer appeared on X. In the video, she spoke about her personal experiences and made a comment that quickly spread across social media.Pokimane said she noticed a pattern during her time in the city. According to her, many of the men she found most attractive turned out to be gay. The comment triggered mixed reactions online. While some viewers found her remarks lighthearted and relatable, others accused her of posting content meant to stir strong reactions and online arguments.

Pokimane explains herself as online reactions grow

In the viral clip, Pokimane explained that she did not mean to offend anyone. She said she felt surprised because this situation seemed to happen repeatedly. She described moments where she felt interested in someone, only to later find out they were gay. She added that it did not upset her, as those men often became close friends instead. She suggested that turning romantic interest into friendship was actually a positive outcome. The clip quickly gained attention on X. Many users shared their opinions in the replies. Some viewers joked about the idea of gaining more close friends. Others believed Pokimane was intentionally trying to provoke reactions. As the discussion continued, Pokimane also resurfaced in the news for a separate topic. She recently posted an Instagram Reel where she addressed common assumptions people make about her life. She spoke about the belief that she comes from wealth or has unlimited money available. Pokimane explained that this idea is not true. She shared that she is an immigrant and has spent most of her career being careful with money. Her main goals, she said, were to save enough to support her parents in retirement and to build a stable future for her own family. She added that while many people recognize her face online, they do not truly know her personal story.Pokimane also explained that she works constantly and considers herself a workaholic. Instead of endlessly chasing more income, she said she now focuses on giving back. This includes supporting her community, treating her loved ones, and occasionally rewarding herself. The recent viral moment once again shows how closely Pokimane’s words are watched online.
