The Washington Post laid off one-third of its workforce, the most sweeping layoff in its nearly 150-year history, including a woman who was on maternity leave. In a post on X, a woman named Sabrina Malhi claimed that she was laid off by the Washington Post while she was nursing my newborn baby. She came under attack from a section of internet users after she posted about being laid off by the Washington Post. One of the users said, “We’re going to deport all of you back to Mumbai.”
Another user said that she “should go back to India or wherever your home is, hope you and your newborn will be happy there!” Several users asked Malhi to learn coding to get the new job another user said that one should not be sad for leaving “propagandist” job. After the comments, Malhi said that this is the reason why she post less about her personal life. She said, “people are vile and cruel.”
