The incident took place during England’s June 23 World Cup fixture against Ghana in Massachusetts. AngryGinge, whose real name is Morgan, documented the day for his YouTube vlog on his second channel, MoreGinge. Around 18 minutes into the video, he interrupted his matchday coverage after noticing what he believed were racist comments coming from a nearby spectator. Speaking directly to the camera, he said:”We have a situation where the gentleman who is there is being racist. Um, so we’re going to get a supervisor ‘cuz, I mean, ‘Kick It Out’ is the saying I will stand by that.”The phrase “Kick It Out” refers to English football’s long-running anti-discrimination campaign, making Morgan’s reference especially relevant as he decided to involve stadium officials rather than ignore the remarks. A message later appeared in the vlog explaining why he chose to act:”THE MAN SAT IN FRONT WAS MAKING INCREDIBLY RACIST COMMENTS TOWARDS THE GHANAIAN NATIONAL TEAM. DUE TO THIS IT WAS ONLY RIGHT FOR ME TO STAND UP AND DEAL WITH THIS.”According to Morgan’s account, stadium staff informed him that the spectator could not be removed immediately unless another incident occurred.
